Emily Cortez

Hi! My name is Emily Cortez, and I am proudly representing swimming for Homecoming. I am a 4-year letterman varsity swimmer, a three-year regional qualifier and was awarded Newcomer of the Year Freshman year, MVP my Sophomore year, and I am currently Co-Captain of the Swim team. Outside of sports, I have also been a 4-year member of FFA and elected as an officer for the past 2 years as well as been a member of NHS. I had the amazing opportunity to represent Weslaco High as a 2020 Girls State Delegate and as a Hidalgo County Cotillion member. For the past 4 years I’ve been a superior honor student, and last August I was awarded as an AP scholar student, as is right now I am currently ranked as #15 in our senior class. I plan to attend Texas A&M University in the Fall and major in Biomedical Science with hopes of becoming a dentist.
