The campus military liaison is the connector, advocate, and navigator for military-connected students and their families. By working across departments and with outside organizations, they help ensure these students are integrated, supported, and set up for success in their academic and personal lives.
The campus military liaison is the main support person for military-connected students. They help with getting started, admissions, benefits like the GI Bill®, and understanding how to use school systems like registration and financial aid. They’re the go-to person for any military-related questions.
The liaison connects students and their families to helpful services on and off campus—like advising, tutoring, veteran benefits, career help, and local military support groups.
They speak up for military-connected students in school decisions and help with special needs like deployments or relocations. They also help staff understand military life.
They work with student veteran groups, nearby military bases, and school departments like housing and financial aid to provide strong support networks.
The liaison involves families by offering welcome sessions, sharing helpful info, and creating programs that include and support military families.
Weslaco ISD and the City of Weslaco host a special proclamation to honor and celebrate our Weslaco ISD military children.
