To be eligible to apply for the UBS 9-month Academic Year Program, applicants must be:
A U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
An undergraduate student currently enrolled in an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university.
To be considered as a candidate for the UBS program, a complete application must be submitted:
Two (2) recommendations from a professor, supervisor, community leader, mentor, or another role who can provide insight regarding your skills, strengths, and work ethic.
A copy of your transcripts from your current undergraduate institution.
Background: How have your background and life experiences, including cultural, geographical, financial, educational, or other opportunities or challenges, motivated your decision to pursue a research opportunity at the University of Wisconsin-Madison? (limit 500 words)
Future Goals & Career Plans: Please write a statement describing how your participation in a summer research program at UW-Madison would contribute to your future goals and career plans. Please feel free to comment on why you are interested in our program. (limit 500 words)
Research Experience: Although previous research experience is not required to be considered for participation in our summer program, please describe any research experience you may have had in the past. (limit 500 words).
Research Interests: A short statement on the research topics you are interested in and those you are not (~100 words).
