Summer is in full swing, and I know that all 4-H members have been busy learning, growing, and making memories. As your family prepares for the Pierce County Fair, there are still many opportunities to get involved and enjoy all that 4-H has to offer.
Last week, Cloverbuds participated in our America's 250th Birthday Day Camp, where they explored the significance of our nation's upcoming 250th birthday. A special thank you goes to our summer intern, Maddie Nelson, for the time, creativity, and hard work she put into planning a fun and meaningful experience for our youth.
Congratulations to our 4-H Livestock Judging and 4-H Dairy Judging teams on their outstanding performances at Area Animal Science Day at the end of June. The Senior Livestock Judging Team earned 2nd overall, and the Senior Dairy Judging Team earned 1st overall. We are proud of all of our members for representing Pierce County 4-H.
There are still two more day camps planned this summer, and we hope you will join us. The registration deadline has been extended to July 6, so there is still time to sign up. Be sure to check out the details in this newsletter.
Before I close, congratulations to Bethany Christensen for correctly guessing that my husband and I vacationed in Door County, including a hike on Rock Island. Watch for more newsletter trivia in future issues!
Thank you to our volunteers, families, and members for everything you do to make Pierce County 4-H such a strong and welcoming program. We hope you have a safe, fun, and memorable July!
Keep your clover strong. 🍀April

Divide the youth into two equal teams. Name one of the teams, the crows and the other cranes. Line the two teams up four or five feet apart, facing each other. Flip a coin, and if it comes up heads, call crows. Upon calling crows, the crows must turn in flight with the cranes after them. If any of the cranes make it to the safety zone, they are free. If they are touched, they switch teams.
