Drawing Data
Drawing Data
When: December 18, 2025, 4:30-5:30PM CST
We'll look at some inspiration from different places and then create simple and playful data visualizations.
If you're joining from home have the following on hand:
[Optional] Collect some data about your year. It doesn't have to be precise or serious. How many times did you go outside each week; was the sun out? Which song did you listen to most each month? Which are your most used emojis?
Paper (post-its, copy paper, the back of an envelope)
Drawing materials (your favorite pen, some markers, colored pencils, highlighters)
Craft materials (pony beads, pipe cleaners, paper clips, whatever is lying around)
Each month, participants will make something together and share ideas for supporting maker-based learning experiences with their learners. You can join online via zoom or in person at one of our four hub locations. The Teacher Studio is made up of school-based and out-of-school-based educators from a variety of content areas, grade levels, and experience levels with making.
The Teacher Studio is a partnership between UW-Madison PLACE, Wayne RESA, Building For Kids Children's Museum, Madison Public Library and the Fermilab Office of Education and Public Engagement.
Topics for each workshop will be announced a few weeks before the gathering.
