Circuit Block Workshop
When: October 7, 2023 9AM-Noon
Where: Building For Kids Museum, Appleton, WI
Cost: $25 supply fee
We will kick off Teacher Studio 2023 with an in person workshop! Circuit Blocks are a fun and engaging way to tinker with basic electrical components. They can also be used to explore problem-solving, creativity, and iteration.
In this workshop, you will learn how to build your own Circuit Blocks and use them to create simple circuits. You will leave with a basic set of Circuit Blocks to take back to your classroom or program, as well as the skills to make additional blocks at home.
This workshop is perfect for educators of all levels and subjects interested in hands-on making and tinkering.
Register by October 1!
Teacher Studio is a hybrid learning community for formal and informal educators interested in hands-on, maker-based learning.
Each month, participants will make something together and share ideas for supporting maker-based learning experiences with their learners. You can join online via zoom or in person at one of our three hub locations. The Teacher Studio is made up of school-based and out-of-school-based educators from a variety of content areas, grade levels, and experience levels with making.
The Teacher Studio is a partnership between UW-Madison PLACE, Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, Building For Kids Children's Museum, and the Fermilab Office of Education and Public Engagement.
