September 4, 2025: Enrollment opens for 2025-2026 membership year
November 1, 2025: Last day to reenroll as a volunteer
December 1, 2025: Training and background checks must be completed

Chaperones/Advisors: Overnight Adult Advisor or Single Day Adult Advisor/Chaperone

All Wisconsin 4-H volunteers must reenroll each year between September 4 and November 1.
Log in to 4HOnline with your email and password to reenroll.
If you don’t remember your password, click “Reset Password.”

Criminal Background Check (instructions emailed after enrolling)
Required trainings (annual volunteer training, orientations, and Supporting Youth Mental Health Training for chaperones)

All trainings and background checks must be done by December 1.
December 1 is also the deadline to be eligible for a discounted fair pass.
Submitting an application does not mean approval is complete — volunteers must be officially approved before working with youth.
Driver authorization and training must be current to volunteer in certain roles.

Required if transporting youth (parades, trips, competitions, etc.).
Must be 21+ years old and complete the UW-Madison Driver Authorization process.
Authorization expires at the end of each membership year.
Allow at least 3 weeks for approval.
