My research lies at the intersection of education, applied linguistics, and psychology. I am particularly interested in the role that cognition (e.g., knowledge, perceptions, beliefs) and affect (e.g., grit, anxiety, enjoyment) can have on second/foreign language (L2) educators’ and learners’ behaviors and well-being within formally instructed contexts at the various levels. In my dissertation, through a mixed-methods approach, I explore language teachers’ emotional states and social networks within and towards the diverse professional contexts where they work on an under-researched population of which little is known: Language teachers in Argentina.
