Final Session Details Due to OACS
This is the deadline to review the conference session name and description you originally submitted with your proposal and make any updates based on changes or new information. The finalized information will be used to populate our conference website and any other conference materials for attendees.
To review your session information click here, then select your specific session's document.
Within your session document, we ask that you do the following:
Confirm that your session title is what you want it to be
Review your session description and add, remove, or change any content as needed
Make sure all presenter's names, titles, units, and contact information are included and correct
Answer the logistical questions (you will also find a link to submit your slides, but those aren't due until February 27 -- more info below)
When you are finished reviewing and making any necessary changes, please check the box at the top of your document so we know the details are ready to be shared with our conference attendees.
If you have any questions or issues, please reach out to info.oacs@wisc.edu.

Presentation Slides Due to OACS
This is the deadline to submit your finalized presentation slides. OACS will be responsible for making sure your slides are open and available on the laptop in your presentation room on conference day. You can find accessibility tips, slide templates, tools, and resources for creating your presentation in Section 2 of this toolkit.
NOTE: All finalized presentation slides must be in Google Slides format. If your presentation is currently in PowerPoint or any other presentation software, please convert it to Google Slides.
Your final presentation will need to be saved in your specific breakout session Google Drive folder. We encourage you to build your presentation in your folder in Google Slides to avoid having to move or download and upload later on.
By February 27, please make sure:
Your final presentation is in your breakout session Google Drive folder in Google Slides format
You've included (at least part of) your presentation title and the word "final" in the final saved file name
Double check that your presentation is displaying correctly and any audio or video plays as intended (all videos need to be embedded into your presentation)
We only require you to submit materials that will be displayed on-screen in your presentation room. You will be responsible for printing and providing any handouts or physical materials. Please review room capacity in the breakout session schedule to determine the amount of handouts to bring. For the Marquee space, we suggest bringing around 100 handouts for your session.
Questions? Please reach out to info.oacs@wisc.edu.

Academic & Career Success Conference
It's conference day! View the conference breakout session schedule here. Details on when to arrive and how to check in at conference can be found below in the Day of Conference section.
There are four breakout session rooms that all have slightly different layouts and capacities:
Industry: Round tables with chairs. Capacity is 56.
Landmark: Rows of chairs without tables. Capacity is 72.
Northwoods: Round tables with chairs. Capacity is 80.
Marquee: Theater-style seating. Capacity is 260.
Each room will include a podium or table in front of a projection screen at the front of the room. If your presentation includes a panel, your room will be set up with seating for a panel discussion.
Notecards and pens will be available in your presentation room if those would be useful for your presentation or obtaining feedback. More information on obtaining feedback can be found in Section 2.
The audio/visual package for each presentation room will include:
Laptop (with your presentation pre-loaded)
Projection screen
Microphones (1 podium microphone and 1 handheld microphone)
Clicker to advance slides
If you have any handouts or physical materials that go with your presentation, you will be responsible for printing and bringing those materials to your presentation. Please refer to your presentation room capacity to determine the amount of handouts needed. For the Marquee space, we suggest bringing around 100 handouts for your session.
Please bring your own water bottle and any other wellness supplies that are essential to you. OACS will not be providing water bottles.
You do not need to bring your digital materials. The presentation and digital materials you submitted will be loaded to the laptop in your presentation room. Please see Dates & Deadlines section above for information on uploading your finalized presentation.
Each breakout session will have a Session Host. Your host will be identifiable by their red nametag lanyards. Session Hosts will:
Ensure your presentation is open and ready before your session begins
Troubleshoot technology issues and microphone issues
Move the microphone during audience involvement
Pass out any physical materials and collect feedback notecards (as needed)
Give 5-minute notifications before the end of your session time
Make conference announcements after your session concludes
If you will need assistance from your Session Host outside of the above tasks, please reach out to info.oacs@wisc.edu.
On conference day, we encourage you to join us for breakfast and lunch, and hope you will consider attending other conference sessions throughout the day! Please see details on how to check in prior to your presentation below.
Please plan to arrive at your presentation room at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your session. Your Session Host will meet you in the room and make sure everything is set up and working. You can view the conference breakout session schedule here.
All presenters will need to check in at the Presenter Information Table at Union South outside of Varsity Hall. Presenter nametags and information will be available here. This table will be close to but separate from the general conference attendee check-in table. Please check in as soon as you arrive at the conference
We request that you check in at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled presentation time so that we know you have arrived.
OACS staff will be available at Union South starting at 8:00 a.m. for any presenters who would like to check in early, see the presentation rooms, or drop off supplies prior to the conference start time.
Feel free to stop at the Presenter Information Table any time throughout the day with questions or concerns!
If something unexpected occurs on the day of the conference and you are unable to present, please call or text 608-669-0826 as soon as possible. Your prompt communication will help us make necessary adjustments and ensure the event runs smoothly!
