Instruments and Supplies
Instrument Rental/Purchase
Cincinnati has two extremely wonderful businesses to use when renting and/or purchasing high-quality string instruments. Both shops are great friends of Winton Woods and their experienced staff are dedicated to education and great music-making in our region. We are lucky to have them nearby!
Antonio’s Violin Shop
Baroque Violin Shop
Rosin
Below are some Amazon links for ordering your own rosin. You can also purchase high-quality rosin at either shop listed above.
Super-Sensitive Mini-Rosin - Violin, Viola, and Cello
D’Addario with safe guard - Violin and Viola
D’Addario with case - Cello
“Pops” Bass Rosin - Bass*
*We strongly recommend this rosin for all bass bows, but you MUST use this rosin on any school-owned bass bow/instrument. Please do not ever use a different type of rosin on the bass bows (even if it says that it is designed specifically for bass bows).
Tuner
Tonemap On the Web or Apple App. (iPad is best) *A new, FREE way to practice intonation!*
Korg Tuner with clip-on microphone - (it is a metronome too and you can get a case)
