ParentSquare Notification Settings

ParentSquare gives parents and guardians control over how and when they receive school communications. You can customize your notification preferences for email, text messages, and the ParentSquare app.

Choose How Often You Receive Notifications

For each notification method, you can select the option that works best for you:

Important Alerts

Your regular notification preferences do not prevent Winthrop Public Schools from sending important or emergency communications.

Urgent Alerts are reserved for time-sensitive or emergency information and cannot be turned off. Families may receive these alerts immediately regardless of their regular notification settings.

Depending on your settings, you may also continue to receive Direct Messages from teachers or staff.

Receiving Too Many Notifications?

If you feel you are receiving too many ParentSquare notifications throughout the day, consider changing your routine notifications from Instant to Digest.

With Digest selected, routine ParentSquare communications are grouped together and delivered in an evening summary rather than arriving individually throughout the day.

We recommend keeping School Alerts turned On so that important, time-sensitive school information can still reach you promptly.

Changing Your Settings vs. Opting Out

If you do not want to receive every ParentSquare message immediately, we recommend adjusting your Notification Settings rather than opting out of ParentSquare communications entirely.

Selecting Digest allows you to reduce the number of individual notifications you receive while still staying informed about your child's school.

Families are also encouraged to download and use the ParentSquare mobile app:

You can return to these settings at any time to make changes based on your communication preferences.
