FAQ's

PowerSchool is the student information system that the Winthrop Public Schools uses to manage information such as grades, attendance, demographics, courses, etc. Since PowerSchool is web-based, some of this information can easily, but safely be shared with parents and students.

You should have received an email from the Winthrop Public Schools with your student's access ID and access code.  You should have gotten one email per student.  If you cannot locate it, please contact our PowerSchool Support at itpowerschoolsupport@winthrop.k12.ma.us  

Under the navigation panel, select Account Preferences, click on the Students tab, click Add, and then fill out your student's information.  If you don't know your student's access ID and password, please contact our PowerSchool Support at itpowerschoolsupport@winthrop.k12.ma.us .

You should have received a separate email with access ID's and access codes for each child; however, multiple children can show up when you create your login and password. If you have three children in the system, you should be able to access each of them with a single login.

If you try to sign in three times incorrectly, you will be locked out of the PowerSchool Parent Portal and will have to contact  our PowerSchool Support at itpowerschoolsupport@winthrop.k12.ma.us  

Yes, the system requires an individual username and password for each child’s parent(s). In addition, the PowerSchool Parent Portal has SSL encryption. The username and password must be kept confidential by parents.

No. As long as you protect your username and password, others will not be able to see your child’s information.

Click ‘Forgot Username or Password?’ on the login page: https://winthroppsd.powerschool.com/public/home.html  You will be asked to enter your username to reset your password. You will need to enter your e-mail address if you have forgotten both your username and your password. Information will be sent to your registered e-mail address.
