Apps for Students

Below you will find a brief description of the many online resources that we will be using here at the WPG to help facilitate our remote teaching and learning. Not every teacher will be using every app listed here.

Students should “Sign in with Google” on the following sites. Because they will already be signed into Google at the start of the day they should be able to get right in.

Google Classroom is a learning management system (LMS) available to schools with a G Suite for Education domain. Teachers can create an online classroom, invite students to the class then create and distribute assignments. Within the Google Classroom students and teachers can have conversations about the assignments and teachers can track the student's progress.

BrainPop is an animated educational site for kids. Their content includes movies, quizzes, games, and more covering topics in Science, Social Studies, ELA, Math, Arts & Music, Health, and Technology. All content is aligned to our state education standards. Students login using their Clever account cards.

Students should sign in using their specific username and password or class code for the following sites. Your child's teacher provided them with their code or username/password at the start of the school year. Email his/her teacher if you don't have it.

Bookflix

Bookflix has thematically paired fiction and nonfiction titles which are designed to bridge learning-to-read and reading-to-learn. Animated classic storybooks introduce early learners to the delights of reading. See our Web based program list for username and passwords or email your child's teacher.

ABCYA

ABCya provides over 400 fun and educational games for grades PreK through 6. Our activities are designed by parents and educators, who understand that children learn better if they are having fun. Games are categorized by grade and subject, and cover topics such as multiplication, parts of speech, typing, pattern recognition, and more.

TumbleBOOKS

TumbleBOOKS
are animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they'll love. They can read the story themselves or have it read to them.

Starfall

Starfall is a children's website that teaches basic English reading and writing skills. There are two sections, one for PreK and K and one for grades 1,2 3. It teaches children how to read by using games and phonics.
