My name is Therese and this is my migration story
I was born in Kinama, Gasorwe, Burundi, Africa. We used to live in Gasorwe, Burundi for like 17 years. And in 2018 in Burundi I was eating fou fou and chapati and mango I was eating many thing. And one day someone came to my house and tell us you are moving in american to the United States of America. I was not in my house for that time I was going to laundry. after that we go in Bujumbura International Airport In Bujumbura Burundi. Then we go to
Addis Ababa Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. After we go to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington DC airplane. Next we go to
Burlington International Airport in Burlington , Vermont U A. We moved to Winooski, Vermont USA. In vermont I see many dogs and many people smoke. One day I was going to the laundry and I taste chips I was happy. I was going to someone’s house I see big big dog sleeping in her bed, and was my first time to see people raise dog and cat. We came to school, my favorite classes are math and science and reading. I like my teachers because are so kind, but in my school I see something different there was one girl she was talking to her teacher like her baby. The first time I was going to the O’Brien Center and I see someone is saying a bad word and I said don’t talk to your teacher like that and he said shut up. And I went to my house and I tell my mom what I saw, she said some people are like that but need to make your own decision. Don’t be like them respect your teachers, and other students and be kind and helpful. If something happens to other students help them, if it is something you can’t help then just tell your teacher. And I said yes and we came to school someone in my TA my teacher was telling her something and she was not listening to my teacher.
