Book Programs
2024 Illinois Teen Readers' Choice Lincoln Award -- As in years' past, the WHS Library will be sharing the nominated titles to students in their English classes. If students choose to read from the list, they are encouraged to record their opinions about the titles by accessing this form: Lincoln Nominees. Participating students will be entered into a drawing and will be eligible for a host of prizes.
Read for a Lifetime --Each year the Illinois Center of the Book (an extension of Illinois Secretary of State's Office) curates a list of 25 books chosen for their readability to encourage high school students as lifelong readers. Students who choose to participate in this program will be eligible for school and state level rewards: Read for a Lifetime.
Please see Mrs. Shippy for more information about any or all of these literacy promotions.
