Congratulations to the three WHS Orchestra students who participated in this year's New England Music Festival Orchestra conducted by Maestro Miriam Burns. Ms. Burns was on staff with the New York Philharmonic as an auditioned Cover Conductor for 10 years and now conducts the McLean Orchestra (VA) and the Orchestra of the Redeemer in NYC. Pictured from left to right are: Jacob White - double bass; Ms. Miriam Burns - conductor; Jo-Lee Nelson - violin; & Leonardo Sanchez - violin.
They performed Copland's An Outdoor Overture; Delius' Summer Evening; and Shostakovich Symphony No. 5 Finale. This was a very challenging program.
