Strings Fun & Easy, Book 1 D string #25-end
Goal: Master the bow direction and style of each piece! Play with and without CD.
25. The Kid With the Beautiful Bow Hold—Review all of your A strings notes and adds open D. Whole notes (4 beats long) help you develop long, smooth, straight bow strokes that require a nice bow hold!
26.. No School—A favorite for many reasons! ;-). The first 4 lines of No School only use D0 & E1. (just like #4 I'm Number One only used A0 & B1) The last two lines, review your A string notes with both C natural and C#!
6. ALONE IN THE BARRIO (Spanish flavor, notes A, B, C & D)
7. BROKEN ROSIN MARCH (lots of string crossings and bow retakes)
8. THE MUSIC BOX (challenging for violins! Low 1st finger on E string = F natural)
9. POTATO CHIPS (Awesome song— up bow (push bow up) after every rest!)
10. BALLADE IN C (review of C and F natural. Slow provides reflection time.)
11. MUSIC FOR THE KING Road map! Lots of jumping around. Very cool timpani = drum part in accompaniment.
12. Arpeggio Rock (lots of string crossings)
13. The Extra Recess Rag (Mississippi stop stop)
14. Silly Bird Blues ( F & F#)
15. Chicken Soup (Klezmer style)
16. Minuet (Classical style)
17. Cowboys & Cowgirls (Country style)
Goal: say out loud the alpha name of the notes as you play them! Play with & without CD.
Supplementary Solo Songs
Use SmartMusic and/or CD for accompaniment
