Take Home Folder: Each child will be given a folder the first day of school. Please return the folder to school each day. Each folder will contain:
Calendar
Completed or graded assignments are sent home in the folder.
All notes from school
Recess: Recess is scheduled twice each day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Please dress your child according to the weather. Balls and toys from home are not allowed. The school will not be responsible for any lost or broken items.
Money sent to school: Any money/checks sent to school should be placed in an envelope and labeled with the following information: Name, teachers’ name, what the money is for.
Lunch: Our school lunches are $2.70 per day. Breakfast is $ 1.80. You may send a check or cash to school in the Take Home Folder.
Snack: The students will have snack time. If you would like, you may pack a snack in their back packs. The school will not be providing snacks.
Attendance: If your child is sick or will be absent from school, please call the school that morning and leave a message. Any missed assignments will be given to the students upon their return to school and given one school day to complete the assignments.
The Bus: All students will be escorted to the bus assigned by the parent’s information sheet. If something changes, please inform me immediately. Just by word of mouth I cannot put your child on a different bus, they must have a note stating which bus they are to ride on and for how long (a day, a week, permanently).
Early Dismissal: Throughout the school year, we will have early dismissal or half days. Dismissal time will be 12:25 p.m. It is important that you plan for childcare for these days. Unless you have specified otherwise, your child will be sent home on their regular bus or have regular dismissal.
Special Classes: Specials are scheduled for the afternoon. Please make sure your student wears tennis shoes on P.E. days.
Parent-Teacher Communication
I feel that this is an essential aspect of your child’s education. If at any time you would like to discuss your child’s progress, have any questions or concerns; please do not hesitate to contact me. I arrive to school by 7:45 and usually leave by 3:30-3:45. You can email me at jmcroy@windsor.k12.mo.us or call the school 636-464-2951 and leave a message. I check messages and emails frequently throughout the day. I will respond within 24 hours.
The Newsletter: A weekly newsletter will be emailed to parents each Friday. This will contain happenings in the classroom, new things we’re working on, upcoming and important dates to remember. Please read this each Friday.
