Hi! I'm Mrs. Aakre. I've been teaching K-12 visual art at Win-e-Mac for going on 12 years! The greatest joy is helping students grow and gain confidence through their experiences in the art classroom.

Visual art is an essential component of a well-rounded education. Participating in art classes teaches students important skills that extend beyond the classroom. Children learn problem solving skills when working with art media. The learning environment of the art classroom encourages discovery.

Art enhances communication skills. Not only through the use of new vocabulary but art is a visual language on its own. Art allows children and teens to express themselves through images, color, texture, and text.

The art classroom provides students with independence and self-directed learning opportunities. The art classroom is place where all student can be challenged yet successful.
