Choose from the sketchbook prompts below, complete 1-page every day. Spend the entire class period working on ONE prompt / sketchbook page. Try to use ONE sheet of paper per day. You can use any media & materials. You are encouraged to explore and interpret the prompts in your own way. The images are a guide and not meant to be copied.

Using your compass make 8 circles that are about 5 inches in diameter. Use your imagination and turn your circles in complex circular things! Try to thing beyond the obvious!
You look through a magic keyhole in door to your imagination, what do you see?
This could also be a window, porthole, picture frame.
Don't try to make anything, just practice mark making, texture, value and layering. Make little boxes or work all over the page. Label your work and what you're doing.
Try watercolor color schemes. Add pen & colored pencil over dry watercolor. Use crayons, markers and any supplies you have. Again, don't make a picture, just practice!

These can be any day of the week. Don't just draw the word...how can you incorporate the work or interpret into your drawing.
Draw & shade your hand holding an object. Tip: Close one eye to visually flatten your hand. Your hand must be holding an object or in a pose, it cannot be flat!
DO NOT TRACE YOUR HAND
Create 2-3 characters from your imaginary animated series. MAKE IT YOURS!! Use any style that you like to draw. Cartoony, Manga, Anime, "Disney" inspired, realistic, fantasy, the list goes on! Try not to duplicate or "copy", you can be inspired and still make it your own!
Show lots of details!
Food from the Day. A meal. All the snacks. Just draw food. Can be from life.
Use photographs or real life & draw a composition of plants and /or flowers.
Create a 5 window comic book page or comic strip with your own characters.
Draw from Life or photo. Draw realistically or Stylized. Draw one large image or several small poses. Whatever style you choose, make it detailed; add shading, ect.
Create a page using art journaling techniques. Lots of layers. Collage, paint, stencil, drawing, quote/Text. No Acrylic paint.
One of These Things is not like the Other. Set up a small still life using two objects that are related and one that is not.
Think! Strange combinations. A hammer next to glassware. A cleaning product next to fruit. A stack of books next to a power tool.
