As a digital arts teacher of 16 years, I am an experienced user of educational technology and digital media. With these specific skills in mind, I am interested in transitioning into a school librarian or media specialist role. In this position, I will be able to have a greater influence on the teaching and learning of educational technology across the grade levels.
Because it is so important for school librarians to educate students to use technology responsibly, I chose to earn a Common Sense Educator certificate. I also decided to pursue a CK-12 Certified Educator certification. This training has allowed me to gain extensive knowledge of the free and customizable K-12 open educational resources offered to educators on the CK-12 platform. I believe it will improve my ability to effectively collaborate with educators at all levels to better engage students and improve learning.
This section holds the details of the certificate/credentials that I earned. It provides a description of the learning outcomes for each certificate, the name and URL of the credential issuing organization, and the graphic or emblem of the credential.
This video documents my self-directed learning experience through the CK-12 and Common Sense Media educator certificate programs.
In this section, you will find evidence of my earned credentials from my self-directed learning experience. You'll also find hyperlinks to my e-portfolio, LinkedIn profile, and my personal design portfolio.
