Private lessons are an excellent opportunity for students to receive personalized, one-on-one instruction from a professional musician who specializes in their instrument. Taking private lessons also ensures that your child has another adult on their team rooting for them to be successful. These lessons are highly recommended for all band students to ensure an enjoyable experience and a consistent upward trajectory in skill development.
Lessons can be scheduled weekly or bi-monthly, depending on your family's preferences and the teacher's availability. Most lessons take place either during the band class period or after school.
Cost: Lessons generally cost $25 - $35 per 30-minute session, though rates may vary slightly by teacher.
Payment: Parents pay lesson teachers directly. Most teachers accept a variety of payment methods, including cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, and Zelle.
Private lessons support students by:
Reinforcing good habits
Providing individualized help with music and concepts
Preparing for region auditions, solos, and contests
Keeping students motivated and confident in their musical journey
