Welcome to our 2nd grade classroom! I am so excited to have your child in my class. This is going to be a wonderful year, and I am looking forward to watching your child grow and help him/her learn every day.
My name is Leyla Bulluck. This is my twenty-fourth year of teaching in Elementary School. I have a Master's degree in Teaching from East Carolina University. My husband, Mr. Bulluck teaches here in New Hope, as well. We have two amazing children, Yasmine and Jackson. I love spending time with my family and friends. In my free time, I enjoy reading, painting, sewing, learning French, and traveling.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. The fastest and easiest way is through messages in ClassDojo. You can also reach me through my email leyla.bulluck@wilsonschoolsnc.net or by sending a note with your student. If there is an emergency, it is best to call the office 252-399-7950

Reading and Homework Expectations
Reading is an essential part of building independence and success in 2nd grade. As part of their homework, your child is expected to read for 20 minutes each night. They may choose any book or reading material that interests them. Reading for enjoyment is just as important as reading for skill.
In addition to nightly reading, students will receive a spiral math homework sheet each Monday. This sheet should be completed and returned by Friday. The problems on this sheet will review skills we have already learned in class.
