My teaching career began in 2014. I taught first grade for three years and second grade for one year before I got a job at my dream school, Romona Elementary. I taught fourth grade here before moving to my current position in second grade! Entering my 9th year teaching, I could not be more excited to get to know my new students and learn and grow with them this year!
I graduated from the University of Illinois in 2014 with a BA in elementary education. U of I embedded a passion for learning in me, and an understanding that a good teacher has to be a lifelong learner. In 2020, I graduated from Concordia University with my masters in educational leadership.
I also got married this summer! My maiden name was Ms. Martin. I live in Chicago and in my free time, I love to cook and bake. I am always trying out new recipes for my friends and family. To counteract all the goodies I make, I try to stay active! I love to run and spend time outside. I can't wait to learn about all of my new students hobbies and interests when school starts!
