Ms. Goodrich is so excited for her third year as a Romona Mustang! She currently holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, and is working toward a Master's of Early Childhood education with a Bilingual and Special Education endorsement. Ms. Goodrich taught preschool in Boulder, Colorado, and then in Chicago taught 5 years of Kindergarten, 1 year of SEL (K-8), 1 year of First Grade, and one year of Second Grade before joining the Romona Team. When she's not teaching, Ms. Goodrich loves to spend time in nature, see live music, read, and spend quality time with family and friends.
Mrs. Gorney is looking forward to her fifth year teaching kindergarten at Romona Elementary School. Prior to teaching at Romona, Mrs. Gorney taught second grade at Harper Elementary School, third grade at Saints Faith, Hope and Charity, in Winnetka, and fourth grade in Glenview School District 34. Mrs. Gorney earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from DePaul University. She feels the most important part of her job is to help students feel safe, heard, and understood while coaching each child to develop a life-long love of learning.
Mrs. Gorney has five children with her husband, Paul. Their children attended Central Elementary School, Highcrest, and WJHS. This year, her “baby” will be a junior at NTHS. During her free time, Mrs. Gorney enjoys morning walks with her husband, family dinners, attending her children’s sporting events and relaxing at Gillson Beach with family and friends.
Mrs. Levine is excited to be returning for her tenth year as a Mustang! Before joining the Romona team, she taught at the pre-kindergarten level at JRC’s Early Childhood Center, along with Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development. She also spent eight years teaching fourth and fifth grades before having her own children, Aidan (18) and Farrah (15). Mrs. Levine earned her bachelor of science in elementary education at the University of Kansas (go Jayhawks!) and shortly after, pursued a master of arts in early childhood education. When she is not teaching, Mrs. Levine enjoys reading, cooking, and spending with her family!
Ms. Minkus has been teaching for 26 years and this will be Ms. Minkus' 23rd year teaching at Romona Elementary School! She loves to instill a love of learning in her students! Ms. Minkus attended Indiana University where she received her bachelor's degree in elementary education with a reading education minor. She has a master's degree in early childhood education. Ms. Minkus loves to spend time with her 18 year old daughter, Lilly, who is off to college in the fall! She also enjoys reality TV, eating sushi, seeing musicals, and going through the Starbucks drive-thru. She also loves taking pictures of her favorite people. Ms. Strelitz loves to read books by Mo Willems and her favorite movie is The Greatest Showman.
