Mrs. Boyle couldn’t be more excited to meet her new second graders this year! This will be her twelfth year as a teacher and eighth year at Romona. Mrs. Boyle graduated from the University of Illinois where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 2014. In May 2020, she earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. In her free time, she loves to read, exercise, and spend time with her family and friends.
This is Mrs. Johnsonʼs 22nd year at Romona Elementary School. Before arriving at Romona, she taught in Mundelein for four years. Mrs. Johnson received her undergraduate degree from Elmhurst College and her graduate degree from National-Louis University.
Mrs. Johnson enjoys camping with her family and mountain biking. She has four children, ages 19, 16, 11 and 10. During the summer she enjoys spending time at the pool and vacationing in Wisconsin with her husband and children.
Mrs. Karwowski loves Romona School and teaching kids! When she was little, she used to “play” school and would be the teacher to all of the younger neighborhood kids. As a grown up, this will be Mrs. Karwowski’s 28th year of teaching and her 19th year at Romona School! Throughout her teaching career in Wilmette and in a previous school district, Mrs. Karwowski has been a second, third, and fourth grade teacher.
Mrs. Karwowski and her husband, Tad, have two adult children. Their daughter Cassidy lives in Colorado with her husband and their son, Cameron lives here in Illinois and is getting married in March! Mrs. Karwowski loves to kayak and paddle board, ride electric bikes, read, shop, see happy and funny movies, go to restaurants with friends, travel, and spend lots of time with her family. She loves to have fun in and out of the classroom with a positive, smiley attitude. It is her goal every day to make learning exciting, to personally connect with the kids and to get them to love coming to school each day!
This is Mrs. Parker's 15th year teaching at Romona. Before starting at Romona, she taught in Ohio for eight years in a variety of positions, including as a fifth and sixth grade Learning Behavioral Specialist (LBS), a seventh and eighth grade LBS and as a special education pre-k teacher. She also worked for two years prior to that at Don Johnston, Inc., a company that specializes in technology and support for struggling students. Mrs. Parker earned her undergraduate degree in Special Education from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and a Master's Degree from Concordia University in Inclusive Classrooms. Mrs. Parker currently lives in Lake Villa with her 16 year old son, 15 year old daughter and her husband. She spends her free time playing board games, working in her garden, birding, baking, and geocaching. Mrs. Parker always looks forward to school in the fall and can’t wait to get started!
Mrs. Resis has worked as a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS) and as a second grade classroom teacher for District 39 for 16 years, and this will be her sixth year at Romona Elementary School. Mrs. Resis earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education at Michigan State University. Go Green! She lives in Wilmette with her two children, Harry and Gordie, and husband, Eric. Harry is 16 and going into eleventh grade and Gordie is 14 and going into ninth grade. She enjoys watching her boys play sports, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially at Torch Lake in Michigan.
Mrs. Seed has been teaching for over 20 years. Most of those years have been in first grade at Romona. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Illinois State University and her Master of Education in Language and Literacy at National-Louis University. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher. She enjoys reading, family time, and going on road trips.
