    • Highcrest Middle School: 8:50 AM - 3:35 PM


    • Wilmette Junior High School: 8:25 AM - 3:10 PM

School-Day Schedule

  • Follow 9-period day schedule (same times as in-person)

  • Daily homeroom (live for all)

  • Same start and end times (HMS: 8:50 AM - 3:35 PM, WJHS: 8:25 AM - 3:10 PM)

  • Attendance monitored through formal procedures during synchronous classes

  • Multiple synchronous opportunities to keep students on schedule (homeroom, World Language/AS, end of day check in with staff member)

  • If not synchronous, classes will utilize various tools such as exit slips, completion monitoring, online discussions, reflections on learning or learning quizzes to ensure students remain on task in the allotted class time period

Special Education

  • Students with complex needs may attend daily.

  • Students will follow the 9 period day.

    • Co-taught, instructional, and academic strategies will occur as usual.

    • Inclusion opportunities for students with complex needs may be provided within the general education classroom or virtually to maintain safety.

  • Academic Strategies will occur in-person or synchronously when remote.

  • Additional synchronous or live check-ins with LBS where needed.

  • Related services may be provided in-person, synchronously, or through a combination based on individual needs and student/staff safety.

  • Decisions regarding students will be individualized as needed.

504 Accommodation Plans

Most 504 plans contain accommodations that can be provided whether we are in a remote or in-person setting. Students with 504 plans are entitled to the accommodations in their plan, and this will be considered as teachers are planning and providing instruction.

English Learners

Students who are English Learners are entitled to services and will receive their supports and services consistent with their needs. Services may be provided in-person, synchronously, asynchronously, or through a combination. EL teachers will continue to provide support to families regarding the educational process and student progress throughout the school year.
