Coach Kartsimas played nine years of club soccer for Grove United, both as a striker and left midfielder. She played high school soccer for Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, and after suffering a serious injury during her high school career, Kartsimas recovered to play soccer at the club level for Illinois State University. Upon graduating from ISU, she became the assistant varsity girls soccer coach at Stevenson. During the high school off-seasons, Coach Kartsimas also led club soccer teams for HP Elite and Pegasus FC, for girls ranging from 9-15 years-old. She currently also serves as the soccer coach for the 6th-8th grade boys and girls teams at Woodlawn Middle School in Long Grove, where she teaches 8th grade history and math.
Coach Stangel has been playing soccer since she was about 3 or 4 and just started playing goalie her freshman year of high school at Willows Academy. She played varsity soccer for 3 years, being the backup goalie her freshman year. She have helped coach summer soccer camps at the Willows Academy for the past few years for both middle schoolers and high schoolers. She also made time to coach little kids between the ages of 3-10 over the summer for the Des Plaines Park District. This past year she was starting goalie for Oakton Community College's Women's Soccer Program and was All Conference First Team and All Region as well. And it looks as though she will be playing one more season for the Owls for the 2019 season! She couldn't be more excited to come back and coach her old team!!
