Safety

At Willis ISD we have put many systems into place to keep your students safe while on our school network and devices. Please see the following list below to read about the many features we have instituted:

1. We have a manageable COPPA and CIPA compliant content filtering system that provides the same level of filtering at home, with a WISD device. This allows us to limit exposure to harmful and inappropriate web content as well as web email, social media and chat applications.

2. We have cloud control of the WISD devices so no installable programs/games can be installed; this limits instructional distractions

3. WISD secured devices have multiple threat level protection that disables any internet communication upon possible infection

4. All WISD account activity is constantly monitored for unsafe file/email practices as well as possible account breaches and student safety signals.

5. We centrally manage device policies and settings which allows us to make changes quickly when needed.

6. We have real time bandwidth limitations in place due to possible internet abuse.

7. We have real time application monitoring that prevents unauthorized internet access and program restriction.

If a personal device was used, many of the above features would not be utilized due to WISD not being able to centrally manage the device.
