Do we have to use a district device or can my child use a personal device? 

We only allow district devices to be used at school. The main reason is that we have a very strong filtering system on our devices that limits the types of information and websites students can access using our wifi. We would not have that type of control over a personal device. We also would not want a personal device to be broken or lost at school. 

Why should we buy insurance?

The insurance isn't required, but will cover up to $250 in damages.  

Is the insurance refundable if we don’t break the device? 

No.

What happens if I don’t pay the insurance? 

Students will be issued a device regardless of whether or not they buy insurance.  If insurance isn't purchased, students will be monetarily responsible for any damage or loss that occurs.

If we aren’t doing remote learning, why do they need devices? 

Technology-based learning is part of the society we are preparing students to live and work in. We work hard to ensure that any technology used is integrated into instruction in a meaningful way. 

How do we pay for the insurance?

You can pay online with school pay or with cash your student's campus.
