We are thrilled to announce the the first-ever Resonance Writing Competition, a new creative opportunity open to all students in grades K–12!
This exciting initiative celebrates the power of words and music, inviting students to reflect on how music shapes our emotions, connects us to others, and inspires creativity. Whether you’re a budding writer, musician, or simply someone whose life has been touched by music, this is your chance to share your voice.
Students can respond to one or both of the following prompts:
What does music mean to you?
Describe a moment when music helped you connect with yourself, someone else, or your community.
Each response should be 350 words or fewer. Submit by using our google form posted on the Newsletter Home or on our main site WMB.org/Newsletter.
Submission Deadline: January 1st
Eligibility: Open to all K–12 students
Prizes will be awarded for each prompt:
Elementary through Middle School: 1st–5th Place and Honorable Mentions
High School: 1st–5th Place and Honorable Mentions
Winning entries will be featured in the Williamsville Music Boosters Newsletter and recipients will receive certificates of achievement!
Music resonates with everyone differently, it stirs emotions and unites communities. Through Resonance, the Williamsville Music Boosters hope to showcase the diverse ways students experience and appreciate music, while encouraging literary expression as an important skill.
We can’t wait to hear how music has moved and inspired you, let your words resonate!
