At NYSUT, we don’t just advocate for educators and public schools; we support teaching as the highly skilled and trained profession it is. That includes ensuring our educators have professional development opportunities to hone their skills and meet our students' evolving needs.   

This means we’re huge supporters of Teacher Centers. However, the proposed executive budget cuts their funding, which means fewer professional development opportunities for educators.

 Future-forward: They help educators address some of the most pressing issues facing education and provide needed tools and strategies to stay current on classroom best practices.  

 Students win: Supporting teachers in their professional growth = better support for students in our classrooms.
