Here is my ‪#‎WhyEphsGive story: Some of you have heard this already, I know I’ve told it. Forgive any inconsistencies, the point is what matters. A few years ago, I was DJing a party in Goodrich, I think it may have been the afterparty of the SSF step competition. As I was moving to a new song, a student walked up to me.

I thought she had a song request. Instead, she said she wasn’t sure if I recognized her, but that I taught a step class for her and her classmates at Williamstown Elementary when I was a student, and it was the reason she joined Sankofa.

It was such a small ‪#‎TeachItForward moment, but one that I reach for whenever I think of the many fond–or remixed as fond–memories I have of Williams.
