Nursery celebrated Cultural Day, and it was a vibrant and joyous occasion! Most children came to the nursery dressed in beautiful cultural clothes, proudly showcasing their heritage and traditions.Â
To make the celebration even more special, parents contributed by preparing delicious traditional foods from their respective cultures. The children had the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes, broadening their culinary experiences and appreciating the diversity of flavours.Â
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents for their incredible support and generosity. The food contributions made the day even more memorable and provided a valuable learning experience for the children. Cultural Day was not just about dressing up and enjoying food; it was also about fostering a sense of community, understanding, and respect for different cultures.
A special thanks to the parents who came and read a story in their native language for the nursery children to experience.
Nursery has been engaging in mark-making activities on mini books, where children recall characters and events from the stories we've read.
We have been focusing on our school community and people who help us. Through this focus, children learn about the roles of various community helpers such as doctors, firefighters, and teachers, gaining an understanding of how these individuals contribute to society. It has been wonderful to see that our focus on community helpers has inspired the children to think about their future aspirations!
Group time in Nursery, led by an adult, is a wonderful opportunity for children to develop various skills and enjoy shared activities. During group time, children often participate in activities such as singing songs, listening to stories, engaging in discussions and mark making.
