Important Information

Meet the Team Night will be on the Wednesday prior to the first day of school. Please note this means that our kindergarten families will have a special night just for them, separate from the other grades. 

On this night, families will first meet in the gym for a few quick presentions. Families will then be realsed to be to drop off school supplies, confirm transportation and health records with office staff, browse the kindergarten rooms,  and tour the building with student ambassadors. 

PLEASE NOTE: You will receive a list from Willard Public School's District office with a general Kindergarten supply list, this will have items that we do not need this school year. You can save yourself time and money by only using the following supply list:

Bring to Meet the Team Night

• 4 or more boxes of Crayons- 24 count.  This is the time to buy extras while they are on sale.  We use a ton of crayons throughout the year. Please no specialty crayons  (glitter, scented, etc.). 

• 4 or more Elmer's s glue sticks

• 2 packages of dry erase markers- Please bring one package of fat markers, and one package of skinny, fine point markers. Please bring only black markers.

• 1 package of presharpered #2 pencils 

• Disinfecting Wipes

•  Hand sanitizer- Large container if possible

• 2 box of tissues

• Boys: 1 box of sandwich Ziploc bags

• Girls: 1 box of quart Ziploc bags 

• Pink erasers

• Play-dough and water color paints (optional) 

• Wishlist: Whole class snack items (goldfish animal crackers, pretzels, cereal) , white card stock paper, colored construction paper, baby wipes

  • You may choose to keep wishlist items until final placements are decided. 

Bring on the first day of school: Please label all of these items with your child's name

• Headphones (please no ear buds or blue tooth)  - labeled with your child’s name

• 1 school box

• 1 pair of blunt tip scissors- Use a permanent marker to write your child’s name on the handle or blade.

• Backpacks – Please help your child choose a backpack that is manageable, but will hold a 3 ring binder and library book. If possible, please choose a backpack with mesh pockets on the sides for a water bottle. Please have your child’s name labeled on the backpack.  

• Water bottle – Your child should bring a water bottle filled with water to school each day.  

Each morning of Tiger Academy, your child will meet in the CAFETERIA. During our morning time, we will have stations and activities where your child will socialize with others, creating the start of friendships. The teachers will be observing how well students play together, as well as the social-emotional development stages of our youngest learners. 

From there, the students will split into three groups. Each group will be assigned one of the three classrooms for the day. Groups will remain mostly the same throughout the day unless adjustments need to be made.

Dismissal is at 3:30 T/W/TH/F. On Mondays, we have early out and school dismisses at 3:00. It is very important to pick your child up on time if they are car riders. You must stay in your car in the car rider line to pick your child up. You will be given a car rider tag on the first day of school. 

Parents please:

• Walk your child to the cafeteria and snap a picture (we will have a photo booth opportunity!)

• Make sure teachers know how your child will be going home.

Please remember that “Quick goodbyes help eyes stay dry.” 

We strive to create lifelong memories for our students at Willard Central, including our youngest learners. We want to make sure the Teacher Reveal creates a core memory for our Tigers. The teacher reveal will take place on the last day of the first week. 

Our school will help celebrate teacher reveal with an assembly on the Friday of Tiger Academy. During the assembly, your child will be gifted with a colored Tiger Academy t-shirt. Once your child's placement has been announced, he or she will be escorted to their permanent classroom by a fourth grade buddy and be greeted by their forever teacher and class family. 

If you are interested in meeting with your child’s permanent teacher after reveals, you may do that after school on the Friday of Tiger Academy.
