Welcome Willard families. My name is Marcus Hatcher and I am serving my 2nd term as our PTA President. I have two adult children and two kids at Willard (Alani – 5th grade and Avery -2nd grade). We have been a part of the Willard family for 5 years. Our family has been so blessed to have developed lifelong relationships and unforgettable memories through our Willard community. Like many of you, I have to balance the responsibilities of a family, children, a household, demanding work obligations, and of course the schedule of the Dallas Cowboys!! Also, like many of you, I find the time to volunteer. I’m fortunate enough to have been elected to help guide our PTA with a group of equally dedicated Board members, volunteers, school leadership, and teachers. We are well on the way back from the pandemic that has changed all of us. Our goal is to keep building our community bonds so that all of our families can be enriched by Willard.
Hi, I’m Ann, the PTA secretary. I take notes at PTA meetings and share them for review and approval so that PTA members have a brief record of what happens at each meeting, what actions are agreed on and discussed, and what the treasurer shares. I have a son, Daniel, in third grade at Willard. We love Willard’s teachers and community, the I.B. education, and the science, music, math, and Spanish classes.
Hello there! I'm James and I am serving my second year as the PTA Treasurer; basically, I manage the PTA budget to ensure we have enough funding for the PTA programs that help make Willard a special community. My daughter, Perry, is in 4th grade and my son, Kade is in 2nd grade. With the International Baccalaureate program, I feel like my kids are getting a private school education at a public school (which is great for my personal budget).
Hi, I'm Helen and I have two kiddos at Willard - Elliott in 2nd Grade and Frankie in Kinder. I'm the Auditor for the PTA which means I make sure that our financial records are accurate and that we spend money appropriately and in line with what our members approve. This is our third year at Willard and we couldn't imagine being at any other school - the teachers and staff really are amazing, and our community is pretty special!
Hi everyone, my name is Kate and I have been a part of the Willard community for 6 years now. I have two kids: Luke is in 5th grade and Griffin is in 3rd. Both my husband, Andrew, and I have served on the PTA in different years and it is a really wonderful way to be connected and stay involved in the community. This year I am the historian. I manage the Willard PTA Instagram page (follow us at @willardelementarypta), take pictures at events, promote events, keep Willard connected to the community, and try to engage with our followers. Please tag us when you share pictures! When I am not at Willard I am a communication studies professor and I specialize in media effects on children.
Hi! I'm Shayna and my daughter, Adale, is in 4th grade at Willard. I'm the Health and Safety lead for the PTA, which means I coordinate the Willard classroom wish list, other health & safety supplies like masks and wipes, restocking the emergency locker, and - someday, if the gophers will allow us to peaceably coexist - the return of the Willard Running Club. We love Willard (and we love how much Adale loves Willard ) and are excited to be back for another year!
Hi, I'm Heidi and I have one child, June, at Willard in the SPED program's 5th grade. The SPED Subcommittee is a new group at Willard. It was created to maximize inclusion, social opportunities and understanding for our SPED kids. I arrived at Willard when my child was in the 4th grade (right after Covid), and a few of us decided we needed a community where you can discuss Willard specific SPED topics and simply relax and have fun with these families, while supporting our school. I have really enjoyed being part of the PTA and realizing that both my family and June have an opportunity to contribute.
Hi, I’m Veronica Brotons, I’m one of the VPs in the PTA. I have two kids at Willard, William who’s five (kindergarten) and Emma who’s seven (SPED/SDC student). As a one of the VPs, I help as much as I can the President. I’m a volunteer and advocate by heart. Being our third year at Willard I’ve learn how amazing our community is and how much effort teachers and staff put to help our kids thrive both academically and socially keeping the IB values present in the classroom.
Hello, everyone! My name is Emily and this will be my family’s 6th year at Willard. Our family loves being a part of this amazing school that celebrates diversity and focuses on developing the whole child. This is my first year serving as one of the PTA Vice Presidents. My role as one of the Vice Presidents is to help organize and carry out the many wonderful events that build community as well as raise money for the teachers and their classrooms. It’s been really fun and a great opportunity for me to give back to the school that has done so much for my three kids.
Hello, I'm Jessica and my family has been at Willard for 6 years! My daughters are in 2nd grade and 5th grade, so I have seen the full scope of the IB program. I love the way IB provides a well rounded education including art, science, world language, and critical thinking. Both of my daughters have thrived! As VP I support our programming in any way needed from organizing programs to handing out snacks to promoting Willard in the community.
