The Annual Fund supports core PTA programs year after year. How do we spend $18,000?
$8,500: Staff Supply Stipends. At the beginning of the year, teachers and interventionists receive their choice of a check or Amazon gift card to spend on their classroom. The typical stipend is $200. This year, 44 teachers and interventionists were offered stipends.
$4,000: Cultural Arts Programs. In support of our magnet theme, the PTA works with the United Arts Council to provide Wiley students with cultural arts enrichment programs. The programs scheduled this year include: 4th grade will work with local author Michael Beadle during a weeklong poetry workshop; the whole school will enjoy an assembly titled Didgeridoo Down Under Show: Australian Music, Character Building & More!; and multi-lingual singer Elise Witt will perform A Musical Trip Around the World to the whole school.
$3,000: International Festival. The annual International Festival is hosted by Wiley Elementary, showcasing Wiley’s cultural and foreign language offerings. The foreign language and electives teams prepare students to perform and the PTA secures the stage, audiovisual equipment rentals, and secures community performers.
$1,000: Science Night and Mathletes. PTA funds curriculum support opportunities so the school may host a Science Night, Curriculum Night, and promote multiplication fluency through the Mathletes program.
$1,500: Administrative expenses. Less exciting but necessary expenses to run the PTA include our required insurance costs, Secretary of State filing fees, postage, bank charges, bookkeeping software, website costs, and volunteer management software.
