Don't overthink! Remember--a summary is a general restating of the main idea

KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!
- For each paragraph, find the closest thing to a topic sentence. A topic sentence is what the paragraph is going to be about (it's the main idea of the paragraph).
- Take each topic sentence/main idea from each paragraph and make those the basis of your summary.
- Aim for 5-6 sentence in your summary. One long paragraph is fine! Look at the EXEMPLAR here. It scored a 4/4.

The introduction paragraph is where you clearly state your position. Your "position" is your belief. It is what you will argue.
In the first body paragraph, you want to acknowledge a counterclaim, OR...the "other side" of the argument.
In the 2nd body paragraph, you want to bring up your first reason.In the 3rd body paragraph, you want to bring up your second reason.In your 4th body paragraph, you want to bring up your third reason.
Finally, your 5th paragraph will be your concluding paragraph where you restate everything you said in the introduction.
