Introduction

Nature journaling is an easy way to grow your connection with the natural world and reflect on your relationship with the environment. The act of journaling, or recording your thoughts, is also one of the simplest ways to practice self-care! During these times of uncertainty and isolation, taking care of ourselves is more important than ever.

Objectives

  1. Name famous nature writers from our past

  2. Develop detail-oriented observation skills of your natural surroundings

  3. Transcribe and illustrate your reflections, observations, and questions of your environment

Materials

  1. Notebook or online document

  2. Pencil or pen

  3. Optional: Any type of art materials you desire!

Location

Backyard or quiet area outside to write and reflect. If a backyard isn’t an option, feel free to look out a window or think and reflect on your last time in nature.
