WilCo Welding

 

Class overview

  The students’ ability to operate, adjust, and safely control power sources and gas equipment is essential.  The students will learn to perform welds on Carbon Steel in the Flat and horizontal positions with SMAW & GMAW Welding Processes (Stick & Mig)

  They will also learn OFC - Oxyfuel gas cutting and PAC - plasma arc cutting. Equipment, setup, and usage.  Blueprint reading and the use of weld symbols are also stressed.
 
  Students will learn to be a combination welder and work toward earning Dual credit at Joliet Junior College. This is a college level class, with college level coursework.  This is a very detail oriented, dangerous class/job, that requires fine motor skills, the ability to follow verbal and written directions with distractions, and the ability to work alone or in a group.
