Elephants

This is the culmination of our thematic project focusing on elephants! Students participated in instruction and hands-on activities in all specials classes!

In STEAM, students:

• watched live elephant cams provided by the San Diego Zoo. Click for Animal Cams

• read "Elmer Takes Off" by David McKee and discussed how weather can affect an animals' safety and health.

• learned about the importance of protecting our skin from the sun while creating elephant sunscreen paintings.

• experimented with UV-color changing paint in elephant landscape paintings.
