The number of teachers that are certified to teach computer science
Training that teachers have pursued. This includes:
Attending AP Summer Institutes or shorter AP Workshops during the school year
Participation in AP Readings.
Training through Code.org such as CS Fundamentals or CS Discoveries.
Workshops such as CS First (to learn about Google's CS First platform), Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy for training in EV3, VEX IQ, VEX V5, or Arduino, Bootup to learn abut Scratch Programming and Elementary School CS Standards, GenCyber, TeachCyber, etc.
Attending college level courses in computer science that would help you earn your endorsement to teach computer science
District-wide trainings in computer science topics
Teacher opinion on computer science including computer science integration or CS Education Week.
Key Conclusions:
The majority of the 425 teachers who replied to this survey in all grade levels are positive about the idea of CS integration. 72% of Elementary School teachers, 63% of Middle School teachers, and 63% of High School teachers either believe the idea of CS integration is important, but they need more training or they love the idea.
Regarding CS Trainings, the majority of respondents, 443, never attended training related to computer science.
5 teachers attended Code.org's CS Discoveries training
4 teachers participated in the following trainings: AP CS Principles, ATOMIC or NCTM conference session, Mobile CSP, or CS First.
1 teacher has the Unique Subject Area (#110) Certification to teach CS.
