KP Cares will not be Participating in the 2019 Making Strides Walk but encourage others to participate!

Event Information

Timeline:

8:30: Registration at the Making Strides Tent (individually)

9:00-9:15: KP Cares meets at the fountain (center of park - see map below)

9:30: Opening Ceremony 10:00 Start walking ~3 mile walk

11:00: Enjoy Entertainment at Bushnell Park until students/families are ready to leave on their own.

** STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION. CARPOOLING IS ENCOURAGED **

Registration:

If you registered online: Even though you already signed up, please go to the check-in tent. A registration email was sent to you Please print & bring the registration email, and any donations to the check in area.

Join our team! Team name: KP Cares

If you have not registered online: Please go to the check-in area with your parent to complete a paper registration form. Our team Name is KP Cares. At that time, you will also turn in the donations you collected.

Donations: The suggested donation published by Making Strides is $100. KP Cares raised money selling bracelets and pens. Please do not let the lack of donation stop you from walking with our team. We will make it work.!

What to Wear: The event will take place rain or shine. The forecast is typically 68 and sunny (fingers crossed!) so be sure to dress appropriately- warm clothes for the morning with removable layers so you can be comfortable when it gets warmer. If you purchased a KP Cares T-shirt or Sweatshirt, wear that. Otherwise, please consider wearing any other King Philip spirit wear (over warm clothes) or royal blue to show team unity. Comfortable shoes are essential.

Parking: Please see the map below from the Hartford Parking Authority with garages and lots. Please also note that on weekends there is no meter fee for street parking. Parking will be an issue so carpooling is encouraged.
