The WHPAG is proud to have supported the addition of a new LED screen in the Thomas G. Crone Auditorium in 2024.
We also helped provide a upgrade to replace a broken piano at the high school in 2024 - one of several across the district due for replacement.
With support from the community, the WHPAG provided an offsite banquet for the cast and crew of "Wonderland" - your donations help us celebrate our students!
Meet the recipients of our first WHPAG Scholarship!
Carmella DeVore will study Scene Design at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Elle has been a member of the Marching Band and stage crew and has helped design the sets for several WH productions, including "Annie," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Something Rotten," and "Hairspray." In her application, Ella said, “With my team I have managed to achieve some incredible ‘against the odds’ goals for sets while still maintaining a healthy mindset and not overworking myself and/or others. The crew that I have worked with has given me a safe space where I feel comfortable as well as good friends I know I can rely on when things get overwhelming.”
MacKenna Matthews will attend the University of Pittsburgh to pursue a degree in Neuroscience. MacKenna has been leader in the marching band, where she played sousaphone, and on stage crew, and has served as a mentor for younger students as they take on new challenges. MacKenna said in her application “Another thing I have learned is the value of sharing knowledge. Over the years at crew I have helped teach younger kids how to properly use tools, and this year I have been sharing my knowledge of tuba with our three prospective sousaphones for next year's marching band season.”
