Guilford
Guilford College is one of the Colleges mentioned in "Colleges that Change Lives" and one of the things that makes this particular college unique is its history of Quakerism. I advised Save Guilford during its early formative phase, and much of its structure is based on my five building blocks theory of save college movements. I wrote an article in the Guilfordian called Guilford - Called to the Light where I tried to alert the community to how the resistance movement went off track by not explicitly supporting faculty in their vote of no confidence. The opposition movement had not called for the president's resignation, but she resigned three days after the publication of my article, apparently due to some internal disputes. I followed up with an article in the News and Observer called: Is Guilford on Track to Recovery? Yes ... and no to explain the dynamics obstructing sufficient transformation of the college to ensure a strong turnaround.
