October:

President Miriam Nelson begins talks with the Board of Trustees.

Jan. 15:

All of Hampshire College is informed of the intention to find a strategic partner and not admit an F19 class.

Jan. 29:

A Student Advocacy Network town hall is organized to discuss direct action.

Jan. 31:

A campus-wide student march occurs and the sit-ins start at Cole and the Dean of Students Office.

Feb. 1:

The Board of Trustees makes the decision to only admit previously accepted Early Decision students for an F19 class.

Feb. 2-4:

Those involved in the sit-ins, especially RA’s and members of the Student Advocacy Network, are threatened.

Feb. 5:

The prayer of a Jewish student is interrupted and suppressed by Gloria Lopez, the Dean of Students.

Feb. 6:

Hamp Rise Up publishes ratified demands.

Feb. 7:

Fishbowl meeting with Miriam Nelson results in the dissolution of Hamp Rise Up demands.

Feb. 15:

Over 100 people come to the 5 College and Alumni Flood-In and poet presentation.

Feb. 18:

A Committee of Committees is proposed by Miriam Nelson.

Feb. 19:

A staff walkout and a community sharing circle are held outside the library.

Seven people from the Admissions Office and two from the Advancement Office are laid off.

Feb. 19-20:

Faculty hold meetings to discuss a vote of no confidence.

Feb. 20:

Eva, the Dean of Faculty, shuts down the faculty vote of no confidence over a procedural error (Lack of 7-day notice between the announcement of vote and date of vote), despite the outcome of the vote, which suggested the vote is valid.

Feb. 23:

Miriam announces talks with UMass about the merger.

Feb. 28:

Hamp.Rise.Up marched on Blair Hall for the afternoon to interrupt the operations at the office, specifically of Mary E. McEneany, the second highest paid staff at Hampshire. In this escalation, while most staff in the office fled, we met with Miriam and Gloria and, very briefly, Mary. As a result of this demonstration, the payroll office delivers paychecks to mailboxes again.

Mar. 4:

Hamp Rise Up meets with Miriam to discuss demands and student Vote of No Confidence. Faculty and Staff join to support and witness.

Mar 9-17:

Sit-in in the President's Office (Mod 106) through Spring Break.

Mar 19:

Dr. Lili Leonard presents at Hampshire about her dissertation on Saving Sweet Briar College in 2015.

Mar 21:

50th Day of the Student Sit-In.
