2023-2024
Recap:
2-6-24 Virtual Collaboration with Lahainaluna High School: Our SkillsUSA team had the privilege of connecting virtually with Lahainaluna High School in Maui. Through this collaboration, our students not only fostered cross-cultural understanding but also demonstrated their commitment to supporting their peers. At the Fall Advisory meeting our students worked to raise funds to purchase the health program scrubs, a vital resource for their counterparts in Lahainaluna High School. In a heartwarming gesture of gratitude, the Lahainaluna students serenaded our team with a beautiful song showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Maui.
2-8-24 Conference at Gillette Stadium: Recently, eleven of our senior students had the incredible opportunity to attend a conference hosted at Gillette Stadium. This event provided invaluable insights and tips on life after high school, including essential skills such as financial management and networking.
2-9-24 Partnership with the History Department: SkillsUSA and the History Department collaborated together, to organize sessions to bring local representatives to our school to speak about the importance of voting. Through engaging discussions, juniors and seniors were empowered with knowledge about the voting process and their civic responsibilities. Both grades were provided with the opportunity to register or pre-register to vote, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping our community's future.
Join us in making a meaningful impact this year through our fundraising efforts! Our primary focus is on supporting Lahainaluna High School, Hawaii's sole vocational high school, which faced significant challenges due to the devastating fires this past summer. We are committed to helping them recover and thrive.
Stay connected and informed by visiting our dedicated "Projects" page on our SkillsUSA website to learn more about how you can contribute and make a difference. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of students and the entire Lahainaluna High School community.
This year, our SkillsUSA chapter is dedicated to promoting Career and Technical Education (CTE) within our community. We recognize the significant impact CTE has on individuals and the value it brings to our community as a whole.
Through various initiatives and events, we aim to raise awareness about the benefits of CTE. We'll showcase the success stories of our students who have excelled in their chosen fields thanks to CTE programs. By highlighting the tangible skills, leadership qualities, and career opportunities that CTE offers, we hope to inspire and empower our community members.
We believe that by emphasizing the value of CTE, we can contribute to the growth and prosperity of our communities, providing valuable skills and knowledge that benefit not only individuals but also the broader society. Stay tuned for updates on our efforts to promote CTE and its positive impact on our communities.

Every Fall, Whittier organizes a drive to gather non-perishable items ahead of Thanksgiving Break. To add a fun twist, we turned it into a competition between shop and freshman homerooms.
Additionally, selected students get the opportunity to attend Fall State Leadership Training in November and will bring these donations as representatives of Whittier Tech.
This year, we opted for a Ramen Noodle Drive due to its ease of collection and lightweight nature.
