2026 Draft Eligible RHP Savion Sims - Edmond Santa Fe HS (OK) - D.O.B: 07/2007
(18 years, 11 months at time of 2026 draft)
Thursday July 10th, 2025 vs Ohio Warhawks
Physical Description: 6' 8" • 205LBS XL Frame to dream on. Lighter on the physical side, long/extended limbs that make adding physicality tougher than most. Uses his length to his advantage in the form of leverage/ whip on his exceptionally quick arm.
Arm Speed/ Action: 65(Current) - 80(Projection). Lightning fast arm speed with a clean, repeated unravel through the delivery process. Efficient/ on time for the majority of his outing. H-¾ Arm Slot - some heavy downward action to it.
Delivery: 65 - 75. Clean, simple actions that ride down the slope with effortless fluidity in a powerful, flowing arm. Athletic mover for any size frame, elite mover for body type. Added strength will help solidify ability to repeat mechanics/ delivery.
Pitch Tools..
FB: 94-98,T99.1mph - Grade: 70-80+ (2100-2400 rpm) High octane heater. ++Grade potential.
SL: 84-87.1mph - Grade: 55-70 (2450+ rpm) - Firm, sharp/late. Multi plane breaker-out pitch.
CH: 88-90.1mph - Grade: 50-75 - Potential +Grade pitch. Heavy fade, ability to kill spin.
Control: Much improved command was evident. Opened up at 96-97mph FB relying on the heater early. Found the SL/ feel for spin in innings 2-3, going to the breaker regularly, landing it for strike 1 on multiple occasions. 4 IP / 1 BB / 7 K’s / 0 runs
-Ability to work North/South as well as working East/West to hitters on both sides of the plate. Stayed out of the middle quadrant of the plate for the most part.
On-Field Makeup: Minimal emotions, other than a fiery roar after a big strikeout. Attacks hitters early in the count, ambushing with a FB early, using a SL to get ahead later in - game. FB stayed 94-97mph throughout the outing. Makes it look easy.
Summary: Easy to see why Sims is in consideration for next year's 1st overall pick. Obvious physical tools with a PWR grade FB up to 99mph on this day. Current ability/ feel to pitch is present with an untapped ceiling of potential here. 6-8, 205 lbs XL frame that moves, stretches & rotates fluidly down the hill. Arm accelerates in a hurry, attacks hitters. Uses the 3B side/ inside of the rubber before the leg kick starts his fall down the mound, landing to a slightly opened foot strike. Good layback to a clean, natural arm path before emphasizing a violent pulldown over the front side. Appears to show deception to hitters - slower methodical pace to start before letting the lightning fast arm clear the way. High octane heater with Jet life at the top of the zone. Ability to manipulate spin w/ conviction, creates ride/run, leads me to believe the ability to develop a 4th pitch is possible/capable. Impact starter potential. 7’ 4” extension via Trackman proved to be more than difficult for Hitters to time, making an already lethal FB play at the top of zone - top of the food chain type stuff.
