SAP Monitoring - A member of the SAP team will monitor the progress of a designated student. Ongoing monitoring of attendance, academic performance and behavior may result in a referral for additional services if deemed necessary.
Mid-Atlantic Rehabilitation Services (M.A.R.S.) - Zephyr Elementary works in partnership with M.A.R.S., a behavioral health treatment agency, to provide comprehensive behavior health assessments aimed at identifying barriers to learning and healthy functioning. The assessment is essentially an interview that targets potential areas of need for additional support. If it is determined that additional support is needed, a parent/guardian will be contacted directly by M.A.R.S. to assist with the next steps.
Youth Education Groups - Early intervention groups are "in-school" interactive groups that address any barriers that may be preventing a student from reaching their potential. These topics generally include, but are not limited to, self-esteem building, social skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and stress management. The small groups are created based on shared needs of the students gathered from the completion of a behavioral health assessment. The advantage of this type of group is that it allows students to share and work on similar goals within a safe and supportive small group environment.
LVHN Counseling - Zephyr Elementary School partners with the Lehigh Valley Health Network to provide individual counseling to specific students. This counseling occurs during the school day and within the school building. Services are paid through the student's medical insurance. Coordination of psychiatric services can be provided.
