Student Assistance Program

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is designed to assist students experiencing academic, social, and emotional difficulties in their lives.  The goal of SAP is to help identify barriers interfering with a student’s overall well-being and to offer resources and support both in school and in the community.

How do I know if my child could benefit from the SAP process? Consider if your child is exhibiting any of the following:

Referral Process

The referral process is confidential.    Anyone can make a referral; including staff members, students, and parents/guardians. A referral can be submitted  online (click here)

Once a referral is made, a group of specially trained staff gather relevant information in order to identify potential barriers to learning.  If the information suggests that additional supports are necessary, a member of the SAP team will attempt to coordinate appropriate supports and services with the parent/guardian and student.   Please keep in mind, the SAP team is here to help students, not to punish them.
